Discover the Beauty of Gulf Islands Wildlife

Visiting the Gulf Islands for 10 days has given us some great peaks into the lovely wildlife.

The otter pups and momma were so sweet as we watched them each morning in Ladysmith. We did worry about them with the ever watchful eye of several eagles nearby.

Harbors also bring some interesting sightings as in Nanaimo where 20 plus black bunnies have overtaken their shrubery.

And the very interesting shore hunters – the Green Heron. One of the few bird species that use tools to catch fish. They may drop leaves, bugs or twigs on the water to attract fish.

Last but not least, my favorite the Humpback whale!! We saw 2 lovely ones on our travel across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver. So glad to see them home again after their long trips south. Love the double wave!

Get out in nature my friends!! There are so many beautiful things to see!
